PREMIUM LENS SURGERY

Lens Replacment Surgery
What is Lens Replacement surgery?
Lens replacement surgery and cataract surgery are identical surgeries; the only difference is on how cloudy the lens in the eye is. If the lens is cloudy, it is cataract surgery; if it is only dysfunctional, then it is lens replacement surgery
Why would I have Lens Replacement surgery?
After around age 40, the lens of the eye has lost a significant amount of its ability to focus. People with good distance vision may need reading glasses and people that had poor uncorrected vision before may now need bifocals, trifocals or progressives. LASIK cannot correct the focusing problem and lens replacement is the main mechanism to correct the problem. The good news is that with lens replacement, the patient will never develop cataract whereas the correction from LASIK often changes more rapidly with the onset of cataract. The best candidates for this procedure usually have larger prescriptions or have a heavy dependence on reading glasses or bifocals. Please call our office to schedule an appointment to see if this is a good option for you.
